It's not for the snowflakes, it's for the children. The amount of psychological study and effort that went into making sesame street relatable for 3-5 year olds is astronomical. It's important for children in this situation to see that they can have friends and behave in ways other than what they might get exposed to at home. It's to help keep them from turning out like their parents, and it's to help all the other children learn empathy
